About us
WHY A PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH:
Choosing a Presbyterian church in Australia offers unique benefits and distinctives that set us apart as an evangelical and Reformed community. Here are some key reasons why a Presbyterian church may be the right fit for you:
1. Biblical Foundation: As an evangelical church, we hold the Bible as the inspired and authoritative Word of God. We believe in its power to transform lives and guide us in all matters of faith and practice. Our teachings and beliefs are firmly grounded in the Scriptures, providing a solid foundation for our spiritual journey.
2. Reformed Theology: Presbyterian churches have a rich heritage rooted in the Reformed tradition. We embrace the teachings of the Protestant Reformation, emphasizing God's sovereignty, salvation by grace through faith, and the authority of Scripture. Our theology encourages a deep understanding of God's character, His redemptive plan, and the importance of living a life that honors and glorifies Him.
3. Worship and Sacraments: Our worship services are reverent, heartfelt, and centered on God. We value the sacraments, particularly Baptism and the Lord's Supper, as significant means of grace through which we experience God's presence and receive His blessings. Our services blend both traditional elements and contemporary expressions, creating a worship experience that engages the mind and stirs the heart.
4. Presbyterian Church Government: One distinctive aspect of Presbyterian churches is our representative form of church government. Decisions are made collectively by elders, ensuring accountability, wisdom, and a shared leadership model. This system promotes unity, protects against abuses of power, and allows for active participation of the congregation in the life of the church.
5. Focus on Discipleship and Spiritual Growth: We are committed to helping individuals grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Our Presbyterian churches provide opportunities for discipleship, Bible study, and spiritual formation. We seek to equip believers with a solid understanding of the Scriptures, encouraging them to live out their faith in their daily lives and impact their communities with the love and truth of Christ.
6. Community and Fellowship: Presbyterian churches foster a sense of community and belonging. We believe in the importance of genuine relationships and caring for one another as the body of Christ. Through fellowship events, small groups, and various ministries, we create a space where people can connect, find support, and grow together in their faith journey.
Choosing a Presbyterian church means joining a community that values the authority of the Bible, embraces Reformed theology, seeks authentic worship, upholds accountable church governance, promotes spiritual growth, and encourages meaningful fellowship. We invite you to experience the warmth, truth, and transformative power of a Presbyterian church as we journey together in knowing, loving, and following Jesus Christ.

As a member Church of the Presbyterian Church in Victoria, we believe the church is to be led by Elders.
The Elders are responsible for the spiritual oversight and leadership of the congregation.
Our Elders work together as a team called the Session, led by our minister.
The elders take care of our spiritual needs, visit and support us when we need it, and teach us about the Bible.
They also help make important decisions for the church and make sure everything runs smoothly.
Our elders are here to guide us and help us grow closer to Jesus, so we can live out our faith together as a loving community.

our Commitment to THE WIDER MISSION OF JESUS
At our church, we are deeply committed to supporting the wider mission of the Church, both locally and internationally. We believe that God's love knows no boundaries and that we are called to extend our care, compassion, and resources beyond our immediate community.
Locally, we strive to make a positive impact by actively engaging in outreach initiatives, working with other churches, and serving those in need. We believe in being the hands and feet of Jesus, reaching out to our neighbors, and addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our local community.
Additionally, we are passionate about international mission work. We recognize the importance of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with people from all nations and cultures. Through strategic partnerships and missions efforts, we actively support and participate in projects that bring hope, healing, and transformation to communities around the world.
Together, as a church family, we actively pray, give, and serve to support the wider mission of the Church. We strive to be faithful stewards of the resources and opportunities entrusted to us, knowing that our collective efforts can make a significant impact in the lives of individuals, families, and communities both near and far.
Join us as we embrace the call to be part of something bigger than ourselves, to extend our reach and share the love of Jesus Christ with the world. Together, we can make a difference, spreading hope, healing, and transformation to the farthest corners of the earth.
